Primary Objective: To establish a fully operating facility both analytical & microbiological from start, providing manuals and training procedures for seasonal staff. Coordinate Research & Development Projects, establish testing regimes for new products and provide for external contractual work

Marketing/Technical Manager – Cedenco Food Limited

Primary Objective: To liase with Production & Marketing to achieve correct product quality meeting customer specifications. To initialise these specifications with the customer. Management of database system, allocation of production and implementation of company quality system. Managing distribution of both export and domestic sales.

Maintaining New Zealand Market and in conjunction with Marketing Manager in export markets, providing customer support.

Sales Revenue: $8 million

Marketing Manager – Cedenco Foods Limited

Primary Objectives: My role covered over a period of 5 years the following markets:- Australasian, Asian, Middle East and European, supplying Cedenco’s Product Range to a base of customers. Establishment of new opportunities and working through these with production providing hands on expertise.

Marketing Responsibility:

  • Regular communication with customers both market visits and base support
  • Establishing New Customers
  • Promotional work involving compilation of material for Industrial Awards, Food Fairs, Company Brochures and Sample Packs
  • Organising Public Relations Activities
  • Involved with coordinating visits & entertaining domestic and international customers

Production responsibility:

  • Maintaining Production involvement with product allocation on a daily basis through seasonal periods
  • Setting Production Programmes in conjunction with Factory Manager
  • Stock Inventory Control
  • Packaging & Consumable Purchasing

Sales Revenue: $48 million

Project Facilitator - eco2000 Charitable Trust

To manage and support land based agricultural groups with the promotion and demonstration of sustainable land management practices.

To create a network between government bodies and local groups and be able to coordinate events such as fieldays, workshops and conferences

Working with some 18 landbased groups, development of an Events Calendar for the Year 2000 was achieved with over 36 events taking place over the 12 months. Facilitation of the event planning and assistance with funding and sponsorship was part of the job requirement, reporting to a Trust on a regular basis. Continual funding was sort for the operation of the Trust and applications were made to several industry and government organisations.

Product Development Manager - Sunrise Coast Produce

Product and market development for the associated food processing plant, Convenience Foods. Applying for industry funding and managing product research for processed buttercup squash.

Market Branding and development of promotional material.

Domestic sales for pouched corn product, developing sales, ordering and despatch systems

Sales & Marketing Manager - Riversun Nursery Limited

Senior Management Position managing the sales process of grafted grapevines to the NZ Viticultural Industry. As the largest privately owned propogation company the sales revenue was $13 million approximately

  • Developed marketing strategies, sales systems and management of the despatch of product and Production/Sales forecasting, also pricing strategies
  • Managed staff of 5 persons
  • Customer base over 300 clients
  • Managed key client base, developing strategies and product supply to requirements
  • Development of key marketing promotional tools and publications, event management with conference
